Women's competition
This morning, the women's competition began at the 2021 Crossfit Games with the swim event. Jonne Koski, Tia-Clair Toomey Orr, and TiaClair Toomey Orr were the winners in the first event. Koski took the overall title after she held her lead through the entire competition. Tall and Eramoo O'Connell came in second and third, respectively. It was the first Games for women, and the women's side hoped to complete the podium.
The women's competition is filled with top-level athletes. The field features nine athletes, including a 19 year-old Australian powerhouse who won this competition last year. Other contenders are Australian athlete Kara Saunders, who finished second in Australia and eleventh worldwide in 2020. Pegboard contest
Pegboard was an original feature at Crossfit Games 2021. The Games added it to their summer Olympic program, along with double-unders (dumbbell overhead squats) and pegboard. Toomey-Orr set the record for most wins in a single Games event with 30. Sager won Event 11 men's and received his third Games win. There were many ties throughout the contest, but ToomeyOrr was the dominant force that won the contest.
