
The CrossFit Games 2021 are on the horizon, and many of the participants are incredibly excited. Along with the usual CrossFit Games competitions like those for men, there will also be events for women. We have all heard about the women's competition, the Pegboard contest, the Cutting system, and Reebok's equipment, but do you know what to expect? Keep reading to find out! Women's competition
The women's competition at the 2021 Crossfit Games began this morning with the swim event. Jonne Koski was the winner in the first race. Tia Clair Toomey Orr was also victorious. Koski was the overall winner after keeping her lead throughout the competition. Tall finished second and Eramoo O’Connell third, respectively. It was the first Games women's event and the women hoped to complete it.
The women's contest is filled with high-level athletes. The field comprises nine athletes, one of whom is a teenager who won the competition in Australia last summer. Other contenders are Australian athlete Kara Saunders, who finished second in Australia and eleventh worldwide in 2020. Another rising star is Andrea Nisler, who competed in the team division in 2018 and finished third in the United States and fifteenth overall in 2020. This competition will include these athletes and Sara Sigmundsdottir of Iceland, a newcomer to Crossfit. She won the first place Medal at the World Crossfit Games earlier.
Pegboard contest
Pegboard at Crossfit Games 2020 was a first. The Games added it to their summer Olympic program, along with double-unders (dumbbell overhead squats) and pegboard. Toomey-Orr won 30 of the Games' most events, setting a new record. Sager won Event 11 and became the Games' third winner. While there were many tie-breakers, ToomeyOrr's dominance was enough to win the contest.

CrossFit Games athletes train by focusing on ten core physical skills: strength, flexibility and speed. Competitors are tested on their grip strength and coordination in the Pegboard contest. The athletes compete on a scale by holding two wooden pegs between their hands. The competition was fierce and the athletes felt a sense accomplishment after finishing the Pegboard.
Cutting system
CrossFit Games will again use a cutting method for individual competition. The cuts are not as severe as those used in past Games but they are still very different. It consists of 15 events so 30 athletes could be reduced after the seventh and eighth events. The question is: How will CrossFit adjust points after cuts? The scoring table used in the 2019 games was nearly identical to the one used in 2021, so it's likely that this will continue to be the case.
This year's CrossFit Games team includes 236 competitors, making it the largest ever. Major cuts occur in the first six events. The field is now reduced to 75. To determine the top ten, the top 30 athletes compete in a sprint tandem. From there, the top 20 athletes compete in the remaining six events. Castro's system was strongly criticised by former Games participants, who felt that cuts were too substantial.
Equipment from Reebok
Reebok has announced new sports shoes, clothing, and other equipment for the CrossFit Games. The Nano X1 are the new shoes. They're made to fit multiple fitness needs. Reebok calls the shoe "the shoe of health," but it is more like a traditional trainer shoe. DuPont's Kevlar upper promotes breathability while ensuring durability. The shoe's responsiveness is enhanced by the RopePro tech and a firm midsole.

CrossFit's agreement with Reebok will end at 2020. No title sponsor will be available for the Games. Reebok sponsored the Games for more a decade. Now, it is obvious that the company will lessen its involvement. Reebok won't be funding the Games' prize fund, but will continue making all athletic apparel and equipment worn athletes by, including the Reebok gear. The company will no longer call itself the "Reebok CrossFit Game", as it currently does.
